Private 2Day Tour from Bucharest to Brasov Peles & Bran Castles + Bear Sanctuary

We leave at 8 AM, in the early morning from your hotel in Bucharest, to be sure that we won't have surprises on the road because of the traffic. Our first stop is Sinaia, a mountain resort from the popular Prahova Valley where we'll visit our first castle. The 2-day tour will begin with the tour of Peles Castle, a castle used by the royal family in the 19th and 20th centuries. The mountain and the elegant gardens from around the castle add even more charm to this extraordinary castle. Inside, you will see the luxury: golden chandeliers, walnut tree carvings, marble fountains, Venetian mirrors, secret chambers, a royal armoury, one of the finest collections of art in Eastern and Central Europe, and exotic timbers and solid bronze doors.

Next up is Brasov city where you will have your stay too, we will show you the highlights building and history of the old town. Starting more than 900 years ago the history of Brasov is very close to the knights, the Saxons, and the invaders. The visit to the Black Church, which dominates the main square and is Brasov's most important monument. It is the largest Gothic church between Vienna and Istanbul. Called the Black Church because of the Great Fire the city endured in 1689. You will understand why is the CROWN city and why we have two medieval parts of the city, the Romanian part and the Saxon one. Today it is one of the most beautiful places in Romania, a city filled with history and situated on the foot of the mountains. The rest of the day is leisure time, the accommodation will be right in the city centre, so all the restaurants and the medieval buildings will be near you.

The tour with the guide from the Bear Sanctuary takes about one hour and represents a walk along a forest path of approximately two kilometres. This way, you will discover the stories of the bears that are now living in the sanctuary, the purpose of this place and you may ask questions. Over 100 brown bears saved from captivity or cruel conditions found a new and safe home in the 60 hectares sanctuary from Zarnesti, the largest of this type in Europe. Inside we will have a walk along a forest path of approximately two kilometres. This way, you will discover the stories of the bears that are now living in the sanctuary, the purpose of this place and you may ask questions.

Another highlight of this tour will be the visit to the medieval Bran Castle. The castle is built on a hilltop with a view of each part of the valley. The castle got its fame from the novel “Dracula”, written by Bram Stoker, and Dracula movie due later directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The Bran Castle tour will show us the castle’s many well-preserved rooms and chambers. Gothic furnishings and details help set the scene for ghastly legends of all that happened here. After the visit, you will have time to take some souvenirs just outside of the castle, and local handmade things of wool and wood. Here you will have an exclusive natural cheese sampling. After or before the Bran Castle tour we will take a short break to eat something traditional in Bran.
