Old Tokyo Tour: Shibamata Nostalgic Streets Small Group Tour
Step away from the busy tourist areas of Tokyo into one of the city’s best-kept secrets: a nostalgic town filled with traditional shopping streets and a slower pace of life that feels worlds away from Shinjuku or Shibuya. Pass through a traditional shopping street selling handmade snacks and crafts, before arriving at a temple famous for its wooden reliefs and a hidden Japanese garden that few ever find. We’ll also enjoy a Japanese lunch! Nearby is a former merchant’s residence, where we can sit down with a cup of green tea while gazing out onto a Japanese garden. Then, enjoy the riverside scenery with a chance to cross the river on a rare surviving ferry that still connects the two shores (weather permitting).
