A short scenic drive takes you to the historic port town of Lyttelton, nestled around a beautiful volcanic harbour. Walk along the waterfront, enjoy the artsy atmosphere, or sip a coffee with harbour views—this coastal gem is full of character and charm.

Your first major stop is the stunning Lake Tekapo, known for its vivid turquoise waters and panoramic mountain backdrop. Visit the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd, one of the most photographed sites in New Zealand. Take a walk along the lake’s edge or simply soak in the tranquil views—this is one of the South Island’s most peaceful spots.
