Privacy notice

This notice applies to BookTheSights visitors who request a free guide or subscribe to our Rome newsletter. For questions about this notice or your information, email support@bookthesights.com.

For a guide request, we collect your first name, email address, the guide requested, the time of the request, delivery status, your newsletter choice, and a consent-version record. We also record sanitized campaign source, medium, campaign, and content values from the landing-page URL to understand which social campaigns make the guide useful.

We use your name and email to send the guide and resolve delivery issues. We use campaign attribution only to measure guide requests and improve future travel information. We do not put your name or email into Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics events, and we do not sell your personal information.

The newsletter checkbox is optional and is unticked by default. If you leave it unticked, you will still receive the guide but will not be added to the newsletter.

If you select it, we add your details to a pending-confirmation audience in Brevo and send a separate confirmation email. Marketing starts only after you confirm. Brevo maintains newsletter preferences and unsubscribe links; an existing unsubscribe or suppression is not automatically removed by a guide request. Confirmed subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using an email link.

Local guide-request records are deleted after 30 days. If you confirm a newsletter subscription, Brevo retains your confirmed subscriber record and manages its unsubscribe status for as long as needed to provide that subscription or meet its retention obligations.

We use Brevo to deliver the guide email and manage newsletter confirmation and unsubscribe preferences. We use hosting and security providers to operate the website and prevent abuse. We share only the information needed for those services. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete information we hold locally by contacting support@bookthesights.com.

We may update this notice when the guide, delivery process, or privacy practices change. The current version will always be available on this page.
