Orvieto is one of the many towns in the area that offer outstanding views, of the landscapes and the architectures. It rises on a hill rich with tuff stone, the main material used in ancient constructions, being it incredibly resistant.

In Orvieto you will find the most fascinating buildings, like the Cathedral, a gigantic Catholic establishment embellished with Gothic details.

Saint Patrick’s Well, a swirling ancient well built in ancient times to provide the citadel with water. An architectural delight that can be visited, through a staircase systems that goes all the way to the bottom of the well.

The Undergrounds are also Highly recommended. Carved beneath the town in the solid tuff, they say they are as old as the Etruscan People that lived in the entire region and were a crafty and resourceful lot.

Take some time to enjoy a hearty meal in one of the best restaurants in town. For local, home made dishes. To enjoy with local delicious wine, because....why not?

An incredible citadel perched on top of a steep hill, connected to civilization only by a bridge. This town, Civita, is so precarious, the land underneath it so fragile, that it is impossible to live here. And so its inhabitants have left it behind. A ghost town today, opened only for tourists to admire. It has resisted centuries of erosion, earthquakes and floods. The soil around it carried away, bit by bit through hundreds of years, has left this once flourishing community to its fateful destiny. A few beautiful rustic buildings trying to keep their balance on top of a tiny piece of land, surrounded by hollow landscapes, quiet and undisturbed.
